try a backup, sometimes people who are n00bs at soldering (I dont intend any offense) sometimes tend to get paranoid and think some things are happening are with their console even though its not. I installed an Xecuter2 Lite once and the person used a crappy CD-RW Disc and it didnt bootup and he said I spilled a liquid in his XBOX and that I shorted something, he brought it to me, and I booted 5 different DVD-R Discs and one CD-RW Disc and they all booted up so he said oh ok I didn't know media made a difference.

So, try a backup with the chip in, if it works, then it works

The tray ejecting at 100 miles an hour means you've damaged the BA5815FM IC. You need to replace it to get things working correctly. I've replaced two of these IC's for exactly the same reason and now they work perfectly.

I agree but before I replaced it I would still check for solder bridges with a multimeter between ponts 5 & 6

I would also like to ask skydemon what watt soldering iron did he use and did he use flux for those points

15 watt iron is ok if you dont leave it on a point for too long
flux helps it stick better so you dont have to leave it on a point for too long

the tray shooting out fast is either the ba chip is dead or solder bridge at points 5 & 6
