My laser started going bad about a month ago, and I cleaned it...That seemed to help. Then it started acting up again, went to clean it again, but was going to recalibrate the laser. I did break the little peice that locks in the Eject ribbon, so I taped it up real good-Think it's fine. But whenever I got my ps2 back together, my damn tray was messed up. Heres pretty much the problem:
I power on the ps2, i hit eject....It makes a lot of noise (The little wheel that opens the tray doesn't move while it makes this noise), then the wheel finally starts turning, but it doesn't bring the tray with it.... I took the tray off to fool with the wheel, and see if there was anything I could do. The problem is the Long white peice infront of the Wheels (it brings the plane up and down) it's not moving. If I hit eject, and slightly push on it...It moves perfectly, but otherwise it just sits there. It has no problem coming back though whenever I hit eject again (drops the plane down). Then, even If I could get that fixed I'd still have another prob! The damn spindle isn't spinning right...
What should I do? I know I need a laser (can get 1 for 40 bucks that's no prob, but what about the other stuff messing up?) What would be my best option....I'd personally prefer to send it to a repairer or if Possible fix the tray problem myself...
Any good repairers around here that would fix this?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks.
