Jeesus, this is one of the most frustrating things i have ever done.
v12 Gh-035 w/CCv1.0+subzero fix
okay. Subzero fix is working great, i booted my ps2 and checked it like 4 times with only the fix installed. went to go intall the chip and blew a fuse cause i pulled off the metal part when i was testing the connection >_<.
replaced the fuse and removed the chip, tested ps2 it worked great.
now i solder the damn chip back in, and my ps2 is going totally wacky.
with the lid closed and the system idle i get NO light on the power button.
if i open the tray the red standby light goes on.
once the tray is open i can power on the ps2 - if i insert a cd it starts to read it.
there is NO video or audio output - not even a flicker when i turn it on.
all of these times i have tested every single connection with a multimeter - to ground, for bridges and to the chip.
this stupid thing is starting to give me nightmares, any help will be greatly appreciated. i havent even opened it since this happened
Make sure you're not catching any of the wires in between the metal plate and the board, shorting things out.
Could be interference, from the pics I saw you're using very thick and long wires. Try to get them as short and neat as you can, and get some Kynar 30AWG if possible.
:/ i redid all that, theyre much shorter and neater now
ill go open it later- if that isnt the problem though what the hell did i do wrong
EDIT~ OKAY! i opened it and found 3 bridges that were so small i could barely even see them with my magnifyer
one was on W - the video/audio connection
and one was on point Q and P - must be power/lid assembly things
i ran my ps2 with those disconnected and the chip power d/ced and it ran like stock !!!!!!!!!!!
im gonna go resolder those very carefully - ill let you guys know what happens!
EDIT2: ARHHRGRGR same problem but worse.... now it wont even turn on! this post is dead, im making a new on looking for an installer/fixer in my area
