Hello again. I just figured out my p14 fuse was blown and wanted to replace it. I have no clue what type of fuse I can use to replace it, can anyone tell me? I have a v4 ps2 gap bios, and the fuse is located close to the ba chip but on the underside of the motherboard. Its a small black cube and all I can see on the fuse is a 50 on the top. Can I use a fuse that i can purchase at Radioshack? If anyone can help, pls let me know. Thanks.

It's rated at 2.3amp and it's a quick blow one it's also possible your ba chip could need replacing also it's one of the main reasons this fuse pops.

Well i dont really know much about this myself, but from what ive been reading theres a chip labeled ba5815fm on the ps2 motherboard which controls the disc tray. If this gets fried then the tray wont open. Also there is a fuse close to this chip which sometimes blows as well and causes the same symptom. Ive read that if your ps2 is off and you can turn it on by pressing the eject button, then your ba is most likely not fried, so it may just be this fuse which has gone. If you have a v4 ps2 then the fuse is located on the bottom side of where the ba chip is at. This chip has padding on it(some gray claish thing on it) so its easy to find since only 2 chips have this. The fuse is a small black cube with a 50 printed on top. Its the only one close to the ba chip(on the bottom side of the mobo of course). You can buy the fuses from newarkinone its supposed to be rated 2.3 amps. Hope that helps.
