Need help with my v7 ps2 with messiah 2! Please! –
I have a version 7 ps2 with the messiah 2 professionally installed. Everything has worked great, but whenever I have to boot an original with the modchip off (holding the reset for like 7 seconds) the game loads but plays rediculously slow. It reads the disk fine, so its not the laser. It just plays everything rediculously slow, making it impossible for me to play originals online which have dnas. Please give me help, and I have no idea how to solder or anything, so hopefully the problem isnt internal. Thanks
Is this when you are playing online? Could it not be the network?
What do you think might be wrong?
no, Its as soon as the game starts (when the chip's off). Even the playstation 2 logo comes up late. Any game I start up with the chi off (originals), always are like this, tho the only games I would need this for are dnas games. Please help, because I dont mind buying a few games to play online.
Do the same original games when booted with Messiah 2 ON boot and play normally? i.e. nothing slow about it?
Hmm. Someone expert needs to look at the PS2 and modchip. If you're in the UK ....
no, im in the us. Are you sure its an internal problem? Is it simple to fix (no soldering)?
Well, if the system behaves perfectly when not switched off, then it logically shouldn't have any negative effect when the chip is turned off. So someone needs to look at what's going on. The only button to govern chip disable is RESET. I suppose you can take a look at that - but I would expect side effects in every mode if there was a solder bridge there or something.
Instinctively I'd say that if the PS2 is sluggish, then something electrical is going on that affects the disk drive. An expert would need to investigate that.
