Is this a clone chip? Did you try to go configure something?

And why is it a MI problem ? You tried originals, right ? They did not work. Then how can that be the chip ? Instead of blaming the chip you should have told what version your PS2 is, (if that is a V9/10, you did the Romoe mod or not for example, if that is a V12 have you done any protection and so on)... I like posts like yours (mostly from newbee's, anyway have you ever read the rules how to post anything here ??? You really think anyone with so less info could give you ANY answer ???) with ZERO info, blaming anything that you have no clue what's going on... never mind, it is almost sure your chip is the only thing that is STILL working... *but probably your laser and/or board are not such lucky*

    regards, Stephen

It could be that your laser coils are fried.
Do you get a red screen when trying to boot discs ?

no.. its does the startup thing and then i get to choose between browser and system config , the regular stuff... if i go to the browser it says reading disc... and the ps2 still do noises of reading.. but nothing happens

Either something came loose, a wire a ribbon cable or your laser is fried.

The reason why I got angry is the misleading title you that gave. The title says dead MI. The machine would boot originals even with a dead MI. Check your coils *there are a tons of posts how to do it, search a bit* and it is probably the problem. Also your LA may be burnt. Still we do not know whether the Romeo or the Summone fix was installed on your silver V9/V10 or not. If not, then it's the wellknown DEAD V9/V19 SYNDROME. And, no I do not have anything to do with the Matrix Team, but using the search is not useless before posting, and giving some specs plus a correct title would help YOU plus US too to give you some usefull advice.

    regards, Stephen
