Need Help for GH-007 / Magic 3

Hi all,

I have some problem with a mod on the following config :

PAL V3 GH-007
Gap Bios D 221-020 B 20-020
Magic 3 Modchip


Works 100% :

- PS1 backup & Original
- PS2 CD & DVD Original
- PS2 CD Backup
- DVD Movie
- Audio CD

Don't works :

- PS2 DVD Backup

I already done the following things :

- Checked for solder bridges (a lot of times... no bridges!)
- Swapped the chip with another one (same result!)
- Used bigger wire for gnd, 5V
- Cut wire to the smallest possible lenght
- tested continuity between the various points
- Checked again & again A through I
- adjusted the laser!

btw, anyone have an idea of the problem (maybe the Bios??? Is it possible tho mod this V3model??? anything else??)

Carefully check the W wire which tells Magic 3 which type of disk it is (CD/DVD). Also check the Troubleshooting Guide for Messiah 2 - same symptoms apply generally.
