NEED HELP! Does anybody know how to play pal games on ntsc ps2?

Hi there people.

Does anybody know how one can play PAL games on ntsc ps2? Without seeing the screen all gray and "jumping" and "bouncing " on the TV?

If its maybe a PAL-NTSC converter or something like that so i wont have to buy another TV if you know what i mean , or any other way. I have 2 games that I havent been able to play cause they are PAL, SYBERIA and TWIN CALIBER, they are both DVD but PAL.

So I would really appreciate anyone that can help me on this issue.

This one's been covered rather often in the forum and it relates to the NTSC COLOUR FIX section of the Messiah 2 Install Guide.

IF you install the NTSC colour fix
........AND your TV is sufficiently modern to resolve 50Hz frame rate
THEN a PAL PS2 game will display correctly

On the flip side, if your TV cannot resolve the 50Hz Psuedo-PAL signal that comes out at NTSC colour standard when the Colour Fix is applied, then the screen will roll but colours will be fine.

So it depends on your TV.

I have one multi-system TV - no colour fix and no convertor is necessary.

I also have one PAL only TV that resoloves 60Hz; so the colour fix allows me to play NTSC games and view them perfectly.

A third TV is PAL 50Hz only and I have to use an NTSC-PAL convertor for that one. The same would apply to you for 60Hz only TVs - a PAL-NTSC convertor would be needd.

Finally, CD games can be patched to define themselves as NTSC games. But I doubt if that's the way you want to go.

Er... read what I say. "...it depends on your TV".

I have covered the different scenarios. i don't know which is your scenario (whether or not your TV is multi-system). My guess is that it is not so you can either buy a TV that resolves 50Hz or get a PAL to NTSC convertor (I doubt you'll do that) or give up.

They are very expensive. I think a new TV that resolves 50Hz is cheaper or the same price.

It provides the technical info. It also says that modern signal processors have enough tolerance to resolve the whole 50Hz to 60Hz range.

If the TV manufacturer's in US or Colombia or wherever don't do that, then it's deliberate to protect their market. But there are plenty of US outlets for multisystem TVs.

snake now you got me wondering i am going to have to check it out i know it work for the ps1 but never tryed it for the ps2 if it dont work you have to patch it any ways so i feel it should work go here this should be of some help
