I am trying to install a Messiah 2 PRO v1.3 in my Version 2 PS2 with a gapped bios. Can somebody give me some newbworthy directions on how to solder this up seeing as the instructions only show a non gap bios? Also could somebody please provide me with a clear picture on where to solder the wire for the SCEx seeing as the manual is so fuzzy. Thank you. :)
What is the board number?
for example GH-005
The reason I ask is because you shouldn't be soldering to any chip with a gap, so that doesn't matter. You will either be soldering to a chip without a gap or a spot where it looks like a chip should go.

Hmm, the board is a GH-004 but I was under the impression from the install instructions that GH-004 was version 1 and GH-005 was version 2, and according to my serial number and date code my PS2 is version 2. Also in the instructions when it shows the GH-004 it just shows an empty spot where theres no chip so you can solder directly to the pads where as on my GH-004 theres a chip there so you'd have to solder to the legs?? This is probly just me being slow here so I'm sure somebody can help me "get it". I hope. :confused:

Thanks for the wicked fast reply and excellent pictures Quicksticks. My board looks almost like that except that the chip isn't missing like in every pic i've seen so far. So do I just solder the legs of the chip in the same places as if it wasn't there? Also I see you've got a few alternate spots marked for the clk and SCEx. I wish I had that before I had to desolder that other crap. Are the alternate spots just as good or should I just use the origional spots seeing as I've already got it all apart?
