Is it the chip or the lens responsible for not booting PSX games ?
Sounds like your mod chip isn't working properly.
I remember that some chips have 1 or more wires that are responsible for PS1 game playback. Check your modchip's wiring (Especially those wires responsible for PS1 game playback).
Otherwise it seems like your chip is faulty, or not set up properly.
CD Audio - Works
PS2 CD game ( TDK blank ) - works with modchip on
PS1 CD game ( TDK blank ) - doesn't work with modchip on
Original Swap Magic CD - works with modchip on, doesn't work with modchip disabled, although it should !
It shows that your modchip is working - at least partially. It also shows that your PS2 is in working order, but unable to play backup PS1 games.
About your swapmagic disc - is it of the correct region code? It should be a PAL (Or Europe) version.
Also, you did have a flip top or Magic Switch set installed pior to using Swap Magic right?
Do you think that program called PSXLOADER could help me ?
You'll need a legit PS1 disc that can be played on your system without the modchip, and your console must be a pre-v9 (Won't work on consoles newer than v8).
It does not, and will not solve your underlying problem (But may allow you to boot your PS1 discs).
Is it the chip or the lens responsible for not booting PSX games ?
The lens is the "eye" of the PS2, and reads "books" (discs).
However, the PS2 is picky as to what "books" it will read (Region locked, and won't play unlicenced discs).
A mod chip is used to "trick" the PS2 into thinking that it's reading a licenced disc of the correct region.
So if your mod chip is faulty, you may get some playback issues (Discs not being booted, but can be actually read properly with no issues).
If your laser is faulty, you won't be able to read some discs, and you can hear/see the laser struggling to read some of the discs (Especially discs with lower reflectivity). With a failing laser, you may get disc boot issues - and eventually seeing the dreaded Disc Read Error (DRE) message as the laser wears further.
