    Hi,
I just installed a Myth lite 605 chip onto a GH040-52 motherboard (my
first ps2 mod attempt). Upon re-assembly I booted up an original ps2
game without a problem, and noticed the "Myth" name under the Playstation logo. However, when I attemted to boot a backup ps2/ps1 cdr/dvd, I got the
"insert ps2 media" screen. Any suggestions on what the problem can be,
and which connections I should check (or resolder) on the motherboard?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, those were particularly hard for me to solder,
being so tiny and without using magnification. I
will check those and update. Thanks.

    I tested all connections and re-worked B I G and H.
I also had a bridge at W which I fixed. Slapped it all
back together and it's booting all dvd backups fine. Thanks
for the help! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to boot cdr
backups (either ps2 or ps1). Not sure if this is a mod chip
issue or a laser issue. But any tips would be appreciated.

good to hear that atleast Dvdbackups are running
about the Cdr problem did you check the laser befor modding ?
if it was oke before changes are that you made a solderdrop near by the scex
clean that area and resolder the scex changes are high it wil solve your problem

i have seen this plenty of time

Yes, I will check the scex connection again. When I checked continuity
the first time, it appeared that there was an internal short with a nearby
component. I say internal because I checked and re-checked to make sure
there was no bridge between the scex connection and the adjacent component.
Yet there is continuity between the two. Is this normal? I will clean the
scex connection and solder it again. Will post results. Thanks.

Good news! I re-soldered the scex connection and everything
boots fine now (cdr and dvd). Thanks Gamecubesuxs and Mabcom
    for the help.
