welp to start with its a 3001R (version 5 i think)
I have dug it out the closet to see if i can get it going again..
I originally attempted to put a 2.5 dvdkey in that i got from easybuy200 .com. I put it in at work one day, soldered the wires and hooked everything back up and took it home with me. While i was working on the ps2, it still had nhl2001 inside it. I got home, hooked it up, powered it on and actually played nhl2001 for about 10 minutes (so it seemed my ps2 still worked ) well.. i hit eject to put in another game and boom nothing... it didnt eject and hasnt loaded since then, the game is still in the thing.. for months now..
well i am at it again.. i stil think it can be fixed..
i turn it on, and it sits at standby with a red light on the reset button,
i can hit eject or reset and the reset button turns green and stays lit
i can keep hitting eject and nothing changes (as if i am not even pressing it) the reset light is still lit green
it will stay like this, unless i hit reset, then the green light flickers off then back on each time i hit it, i can hit reset again and it will do the same again and on and on then it will eventually go back into standby (red light lit) and fan kicks off.
if i dont keep hiting reset (and make it flicker on and off) it will just sit forever with the green reset light lit.. but if i keep hitting reset it will eventually quit flickering when i do it a few times, it will stay green lit for a few seconds and go back standby (red light reset)
only thing that seems to do anything when i take it out of standby is the fan comes on and thats it..
kind of wierd if you guys can make anything of it..
and the chip isnt in it now.. i took it out..
my cables messed up or eject/reset switch gone bad?
could the chip have blowed a fuse the first time i hit eject after i played nhl2001?
thank for any info or suggestions (maybe i could send it to someone to repair it, if i cant)
thanks guys/gals,
chris
