I had a very successful 1st time setup of a v7 GH-019. In order to do this I used a lot of the alternate points found on this board. In particular, I used the bottom alternate points MNOP and QTUV. I left R on top of the board so I didn't have to worry about bridging points. I also used the power and ground points from foundmy.com. It worked great on the first try and has been working for 3-4 weeks.

Then all of a sudden it stopped working. Neither originals, backup DVDs or backup CDRs will boot. I either get the red screen or a black screen. I can boot originals if I deactivate the messiah2 chip (Hold reset 5 seconds after the blue light).

I have checked all of my solders and the connections are still good. Because I avoided the chip legs I am sure there are no solder balls. I have also done the Messiah chip track cut and used the specified wire types.

If anyone has any idea why it would suddenly stop working I would greatly appreciate their input. Thanks.

My advice is to use the official points rather than the alternates because the wires are so much longer and under more strain through weight.

They're possibly touching when under metal case compression.
