Grr, I hate it when I'm all n00bish about something. I've been using Swapmagic for a while but I can't stand to do disk changing anymore so I ordered the Duo 2 SE modchip. It arrived but with no wires or installation help. I've found the soldering diagram on the official site but I was wondering if there's a certain type of wire to use or if there's anything else I should know before I solder it?

Know what version PS2 you have, so you get the right diagram.
If you have never solodered before --then you should practice for a while....

Practice on a old motherboard, tv tuner cards, and maybe video cards. They can be broken. Just try soldering to improve your skills because these ps2s are not like an xbox which are easy to mod.

or have a look through the b/s/t section and find an installer . paying some1 to do it will be cheaper that buying a new ps2 . but if you are gonig to try it practice on an old pc board (somthing with points as small as the ps2) and read through the many posts here for some pointers

Thanks for the tips. It's a v7 PS2 and it's my dad who's doing the soldering (he's done a lot of soldering so I'm hoping his hand is still steady). I was wondering if anyone has this chip in their v7 to take a picture of or if anyone knows where a picture of one would be? I just thought it might give some extra visual help.
