My first install & some questions
This is my first install.
I've installed my DMS3 + in a PAL V10. In the diagrams downloaded from DMS3 site. Those diagrams don't use "T" point.
I used ATA 66 cable, soldered to DSP not to VIAs. I leaved the wires linked toghether as on the ATA cable where possible (on the DSP and BIOS). The wires are pretty short 5-15 cm. The longest are C,X,A and Clk.
I covered the modchip and the rest with duct tape, I couldn't find my insulatind tape nowhere and it was midnight when I finished.
The GND is power button wire recovered from an old computer case, it should be enough.
I found soldering to capacitors or resistors to be the tryckyest, I was afrayed not to desolder those while soldering the wires.
Before soldering to pads and capacitors/resistors, I heated the wire a bit and then diped it into flux paste, it helped a lot! I have cleaned the solder points where I used flux with isopropanol (isopropilic alcohol).
I also performed the "Romeo mod" using 5V from near the fan connector. I insulated the lifted pin with hot glue.
I am sorry but no picz, no camera.
After install I performed a flash upgrade to v2.3, on reboot I entered the config menu and it sayed:
PS2 version: EUR 0190 **/**/2003
DMS Hardware Version: 2.0
DMS Flash Version: 2.3
DMS Config Version: 1.0
Is this correct, why it sayes DMS Hardware Version 2.0 instead of 3+ for example?
All features seem to work ok, when I saved the status on the MC for the first time it couldn't save, but after I formatted it into a game (it was brand new) it worked OK and since I had no trouble saving on MC.
