My first chip –
02-29-2004,05:43 PM
I want to get a modchip pretty soon. I was wondering what you guys recommend for v7. DMS 3 is a too expensive for me so forget that. I want it to be direct booting dvds and cds and everything. All places sell DMS and magic, so should I go with a magic V?

I have installed numerous magic V chips. and i think for the money they are great. i have had no problems with them. they work so simple even my young kids can use it. my personal machine is a V7 and with the V chip and no complaints whatsoever. thats my 2cents.

i almost forgot to tell you when you do install the magic V it is a good idea to somehow wrap the r wire with a ground wire to shield it. i learned this on the first magic v i installed. It only booted 50% of the time before i added this wire. For more about this check out http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showth...threadid=20825

The shipping was almost the same price as the chip. Made me a little mad but I ordered it. Yay!

Maybe I'll do this myself actually. What materials would I need?
