Is my dms dead?

Ok Had it installed in my v7 but something was wrong as it would not boot ps2 cd-r or dvd-r but would boot ps1 cd-rs ps2 cds & dvds, & the dvd was fine, so I re wired it and I think I messed up the ground & soldered it wicked hot, well now Its hooked up & it runs but its basically like the chip isnt there, I've checked the disc tray leads & all of that stuff is fine. Any suggestions/

yes originals work, its hooked up but its like its not there. I dont have a voltometer, unfortunately

If you do not have the basic checking tools is better if you find some pro in your area that can give you some assistance.
