My Damn Magic 2 Chip Sucks(or is it me)

i installed my Magic 2 chip on a ver.7 ps2
she plays ps1 games just fine but wont boot up any ps2 backups or orignal games....man this chip sucks the big one

I got the same setup as you. Magic 2 in a v7 ps2. It boots everything with an occasional hiccup. Considering the price I can live with that. Have you tried charles_ps2's Messiah 2 Troubleshooting Guide? A lot of the check is applicable to the magic 2.

the chip is bad compared to others, but you have had a mis-install.

check charlies troubleshooting guides as jy96 suggested.

I also have a Magic 2 and PS2 ver.7 US. It plays everything. Oringinal Magic 2 with V7 is the best combination. I agree, check Charlie's guide. It is the bible of PS2 mod installation.
