My 1st Messiah2Pro Install on V7 (PIC)

I just got done modding my V7 PS2 with a Messiah2Pro, and it works flawless! I haven't tested everything I'm suppose to yet, but DVD+R of The Getaway & Kingdom Hearts, DVD+RW of 007 Nightfire, and a PS2 Metal Gear Solid 2 are all working great!

Take a look at the attached scan and tell me what you think. I probably spent an hour on the dissassembly and assembly of the PS2, and 3-4 hours on the mod itself. I worked slow while I was watching TV. I used a Metcal Soldering station with a 500F 0.031" conical tip, Kynar 30AWG Wirewrap wire, and hotglue.

I would like to thank Charlie_PS2 for the Messiah2Pro and the quick email responses, and everyone else who's posts were undoubtedly valuable.

Nice and clean work.

BTW - you could mount the chip a lot closer to the controller/bios chip - but who cares if it works.

Thanks! I wanted to put the M2pro closer, like Necrolop's, but I just decided to go with the manual for my first one. I was really suprised at how easy it was...I was really dreading having to install it. But then it really came together well with the dissassembly guide and installation guide's (Thanks Charlie_PS2!).

I think my second mod will go much faster. I'm sure I won't have to look at the dissassembly guide again, and the mod itself will be a snap now that I've gone through the ropes.

Now that I've cracked open my PS2, I want to do something else to it

Anyone have any good creative ideas? Besides the typical neon, or windowing...what else is there? There has to be something fresh, preferrably electronic based.

Well like I said, the disassembly was about 30 min while looking at the disassembly guide and watching tv. The first night I spent 2 hours wiring up all of the ww wires to the PS2, and labelling the ends with labels (while kindof watching tv). The second night, I spent about the same time nicely routing the wires as you see in the picture (hot glueing as I brought the wires back to the M2Pro), and finally wiring from W clockwise around to SCEx. +5V, GND, and Clk I wired the night before. Then another 20 minutes or so to reassemble the PS2.

well very nicely done for a first install. my first didn't look liked that but i didn't really care about perfection at that time

I took one look at Necrolop's, and said "That's kick ass, I could do that"...but then I didn't want to put my M2Pro on top of any processors...so I ended up with what I have. And taking my time and being neat about things paid off...it works great! If I would have just thrown it in there with slack and e-tape, maybe it wouldn't have worked 100%, and I'd be redoing it anyway. Either way, I'm just really happy that a cool forum like this exists where people can ask questions, post tests, and just chat about bs in the off-topic forum. I couldn't find anything close when it comes to xbox.

now.. all you have to do is order 100 pices and start your own modding shop, like every body else its an adiction
