MX4 can be flashed and disabled but wont read copies.

iv just installed a MX4 in a V9 PS2 but when i go to try any CDr or DVDr games it wont play it just says insert playstaion 2 disc (red fire screen). it will play originals. i can disable the chip on start up and when the originas load you can see the MX4 logo under the playstaion logo.

When i disable the chip i can watch DVDR films but when the chips on it wont work.

any ideas?

iv had it stripped down 3 times now and resoldered

Hmm have you try to reflash the chip??? is it a clone or a original chip??

I have installed alot of this MX4 chips and newer have eny problems with them at all...

Have you used the Matrix FW to flash your chip?
Here you can get it and try again if its a genuine Matrix chip

i got the chip from mr modchip. when i flash the chip it saus evrything works ok but there was one thing i noticed when the discliamer comes up at the bottom it says V1.0 and not v1.10 even though its the file from there web site.

Is it the samething if you reboot the machine???

All machines i have modded and flashed it says V1.10

Try to reflash your chip....

reflashed with another downloaded flash and it now says 1.1. erased the flash before i upgraded to 1.1 but it still wont boot copys

Realy strange problem you have, If i have had that machine i would take apart it and look at my install again,i thing you have some cables wrong OR is it a faulty chip you have?....

Some times its better to let a friend look at the install if you are stuck in the install and it not working,you maby missing something when you are uppset for a bad install...

spoke to the matrix team they have looked at my install pics and they think it could be the cable is not big enought. iv used the cable in all my install and so far they have worked. going to retry with difrent wire.

Just replace the cip with an other MX4 and it will run.. If you install this MX4 in a V1 -V8 it will work.. I see this problem a lot olso with Infinity
