It was done about 9 months ago to make the crude color fix for Messiah on US v4. Please see this URL http://www.help-forums.com/showthrea...threadid=14753 and open the JPG. You'll see a crude for of switch on the outside of the PS2. It's a pair of jumper spades that make contact when the female spade is attached. You would take the ire to the switch and from the other side of the switch to its destination.

    If you're willing to drill...

Have a look at the area next to the usb/i-link port. That's a nice spot, if you don't mind the toggle being under your control connectors. Internally, the area around the mem cable feed is open. Well, atleast on the v5/ntsc and v7. I couldn't say for other versions.

Purchased a 3 pole mini-toggle from radio shack. It's a bit small, so I couldn't utilise both locking nuts to secure the toggle. Underestimated the thickness of the case... end up using just the one on the outside.

    It works; It's clean.

    I'll get a pic shortly.

I've got something "special" in mind for my switch. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures when it's complete. I don't even have my Messiah2 yet, so it will be a good week before I have any pics available. It should be pretty sweet though

It's a simple procedure drilling a hole & inserting a toggle. But cutting the modchip and soldering 3 more wires requires a steady hand.

It would be seriously wrong if I got paid for my soldering skills, I'll have to recommend seeking a professional... Not to mention the slight cover variations with v1 thru v7.

    Good luck.

Oops...I read on the messiah2 website:
"The ability to ?switch off? the chip has been included to permit the PS2 to behave as though there is no modchip fitted (transparent)."

I guess I took that too literally. "Switch off" was in quotes...silly me.

That's just one more reason why Messiah2 rocks

BTW: Since I have no need for the COOL switch idea, I'll share it here. You won't get the super cool pictures, but you'll get the idea. The following is assuming you only have 2 wires to connect or disconnect: Basically, I was just going to use a magnetic reed switch up under the hood of the PS2, then set a decorative piece (with a very small rare earth magnet in the bottom of it) on top of the secret location to activate the switch and put the MOD chip in "stealth" mode. A stealth switch for a stealth mode.

If you hade to use a SPDT switch, you could also do this with one or more magnetic reed switches.
