hi guys, i have a v12 ps2 and i want to mod it.. but i've been hearing bad things about it.. that the laser is weak and it dies it out easily, with or without the summ0ne fix or subzero fix.. should i spend the money to mod a ps2 that'll die easily? or am i just being a bit too paranoid about this whole laser issue with v12 ps2s?

v12 issue is not the laser being weak. virgin v12's laser still burns out due to mechacon crash. but v12 still can be modded safely if you apply a safe fix such as comsoft v4 or subzero fix. i personally suggest comsoft v4 is the one to go.

as long as you do the mod it should be safe. i've done a ton on v12's with the mod. so far no comebacks

Also, use good media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden and burn at the lowest speed the dvd supports.

The neofix will do just fine. Any PIC based fix is better then the summ0ne fix. I also agree the comsoft V4 is the best of them all.
