Modded v7 not working

I just mod chipped a v7 but cannot get it to work. On boot it recognizes a disc is present but will not start any dvd or cd ps2 or ps1 game. It will play a music cd track but has background noise. Mod chip is an M-Chip 2 MP188 some call it a mars chip. Anyone with any ideas what I should check. Is there something obvious I could have done wrong. I'm a real nooby and can use the expert help!

Sounds like a bad install, there's nothing we can physically do about this for you. Can we see your work?

well, make sure there are no shortcircuits and make solid soldering point..
