Modded V12 Power-up issue.

I have installed the comsoft V3 fix and ***4 pro on my v12 ps2. With the CD cover open, the reset switch gets power (LED is on), and when I press it, it powers on for less than a sec and then powers of again. When I close the CD cover though, the power to the reset switch is lost (LED goes dead), and the reset switch does nothing.

Anybody has any clues/suggestions on why this might be the case?

One of your wires is grounding or a wire is getting pinched. Also can be a sodleirng error. I'd remove most things that look suspectful then test if nothing remove everythign then start from begeinning

I removed the fix from my unit, and now it powers up. It must be something wrong with the fix. BTW, now the drive won't spin at all... I can disable the chip (seems to be woking), but the drive won't work at all. I checked the ribbon cables and they seem fine. Any suggestions on this?

After you removed the comsoft fix, did you re-solder a wire on the points as to bridge the track that you have have to cut on the PCB? Not too sure exactly, but i think if the track stays cut the mechcon stays muted and the drive won't spin.
