Modded PS2 Clicking noise,wont read any cd

I have a playstation version 7 with a magi 3 installed. I know the install is good because I swithed lasers and the system worked perfctly with a different laser. When i put the other laser back into the console it went back to doing exactly what it was doing before, makes a loud cicking noise and stops spining the disk after about 7 seconds. The lasr wont read dvd games, blue back games, or backups. The factory settings for the DVD pot are1543, and the factory settings for the CD are 1310. Could someone suggest a good starting point to adjust the pot, and how much i should move up or down each time i make an adjustment. Also i adjusted the azimuth screw and that didnt stop the clicking either. As far as i can tell the lazer isnt driving into the spindel and it is emmiting a red light. I am completly lost any help would be grealy appreciated. Thank you all for your time.
