Modchips and pstwo –

Im looking to get a ps2 slim version, new, so its probably gonna be v15.. I see that the matrix chips are popular and so are the crystal. The new ghost 2 sounds really nice, but the H20 promises a lot, like the laser not burning out and a bunch of other nice stuff.. What do you recommend.. Also what about the bootloaders and firmware.. you need a memory card for it or a usb device and the modchip and the cd to install the firmware.. thats a lot, if its really all that much then i would just like to use swap magic, but that can seem annoying.. help is greatly appreciated.. thanks

I got a premod with Matrix Infinity from www.xmodds.com, its working great, its also v15 and just so you know you dont need any memory cards or usb stuff, just put the games in and play, its awsome
Also i think you only need to worry about that laser burning stuff for v12, and even then if you get a v12 they will install a fix for it, so dont worry.

Yes you get a nice matrix logo, also pressing triangle + circle (durning boot) will take you to the config screen which is very cool, enabling you to select which options you want activated etc.
Also in the latest version (v1.68+) you use a custom boot logo to apear under the Playstation 2 logo, i left the "Xmodds.com" logo which came with my premod.
