modchips and new hdd

will the new sony hdd work for online gaming in my v7 with messiah 2 v 1.31? will i have problems getting the hdd software set up? or will i just have to disable the chip when i want to use the hdd?

The Messiah 2 doesn't support the HDD.

what if the chip is dissabled. i dont want to run home apps i just wanna download new maps for socom.

I guess it will work once the chip get disabled, but I never tried so it could also not work.

it works fine with the chip disabled.
however, the messiah2 will not work -- backups will not boot -- while the hdd is installed.
