I'm looking to chip my new PSTwo. I was wondering where do you guys get your supplies and do you guys have any tips? I have thin solder already, i need to go buy some flux. I also have a soldering iron. I was wondering if you guys have any specific tip ends to use or recommend any brand and so forth? I know the finer is better. Also where do you guys get the wires to connect the points to the chip and also what methods do you guys use to keep the wires down and the chip stuck onto the board (i'm guessing just double sided 3m pads)?

now, what's the difference between a pen flux and a past flux. and how would i use either one of them? I thougth you just dip the wires you want to solder in the flux? Also summ0ne told me that i need to clean the board off after i use flux cause it's acidic. Now he mentioned something about a copper cloth? Does anyone use it by chance? Last time I checked I couldn't find any really thing gauge wires from radio shack

I would go with Kester SP-44. It is avaliable online if you do a google search and I have heard its good. It is can be found for real cheap. Also get 22 AWG wire for 3.3 and GND points along with the 30 AWG wire. I have never heard of it. You can get the 30 AWG wire online at radio shack. I would not want to use 22 awg wire on the rest of the points. It's only needed for 3.3 and gnd points. The Radio Shack Part number is 278-501 for the red 30 AWG Wrapping Wire. The 22 AWG wire should be found at radio shack. 20 and 24 AWG has been used. I hope this helps.

if you don't have the 22 gauge wire you can always double up on the 30 gauge wire. To Tell you the truth I've tried the 22 G once and hated the non-flexiblity of it. doubling or even tripling the 30 G wire has the same effect, keeping the flexiblity of the wire...
