Which modchip will suite me? –

I have a brand new PS2 Slim. Ofc with the 2.30 bios so i'm looking for a good modchip. And in my country it's hard to find modchips, but i finally found one on sale(auction). It's a new un-used ModBo 4.0 Chip. Now as far as i heard ModBo 4.0 has some problems on the new consoles, is that right? I also don't know how to determine my PS2's version. I have a new PS2 SCPH 90004 PAL with datecode 2B(2012). On the auction website it says that the ModBo 4.0 chip works on v3 and higher and then it says"(SCPH-3000x, SCPH-3000xR, SCPH-3900x, SCPH-500xx, SCPH-700xx, SCPH-7500x, SCPH-7700xa, SCPH-7700xb, SCPH-7900x, SCPH-9000x)". Now as i mentioned, i found that ModBo 4.0 doesn't work well with the 9000x series. So i there a way to say which version my PS2 is? The auction is ending in 1PM UTC+1 24 October 2012. So please hurry up with the answers
Thanks!
