    Hello,
I want to get a modchip for a V9, that supports DEV2, because I might use HDD soon, and this way I don't need extra software.
I only know DMS that supports DEV2.
Appart from installing the chip, and do the romeo fix to the LA (I suppose to lower voltage), do I need to do anything else??

Modbo modchip announces that it has CD Lens Safe and some way to keep the IC cool enough. Does DMS have this things?? I got a bit confused with this.

    Thank you!!

DONT buy the MODBO! Its a clone, bad bad bad bad bad bad!!

You should get a Matrix Infinity Original!
Will cost you about $45 but it has what u want. Check these forums, most ppl recommend the MI over DMS. Bye

You will need to do the romeo mod on your V9 .... regardless of what a modchip advertises.

On the V9/V10, the modchip only has to crash the mechacon once to ruin your PS2 laser unit. The romeo mod is cheap insurance against this particular failure mode.

I had a look at installation diagrams, and it seems a bit more difficult to solder MI than DMS. I see about 3 soldering points in a IC tiny legs in MI instalations, that are not in DMS. These soldering points seem quite hard...
Does MI really worth it? I know people often preffer it, but... why exactly?

You can use the dms points. There are alt points. If you cant seem to solder it have a pro do it. I would recommend it for a person who wants a mod with lots of features plus dev 2 that is reliable. Plus its very popular. The romeo mod is highly recommended.

I read that Matrix Infinity is a 3rd generation chip while DMS4 is a 4th. I also read that DMS has a backup bios that loads if the other one is corrupted.. this seems usefull in flash failures... does Matrix Infinity have this?? I also read that it has less memory (64Kb)
