    i have a Version 2 PAL (i live in australia) PS2. whats the best mod chip for it?

    The Duo 2 SE is alright for it. It's not the best but it's cheap and good. You should know that you need to do some hard work on the v2 since you will have to get access to the sx point UNDER the motherboard which is a PAIN to get access to.

    i know a guy who does XBox Mods (installs, etc) who also does some PS2 stuff..so i'll ask him about it. i wouldnt even try to do it myself..

    As for me Crystal Chip,very good boot rate and superior chip for KHS 400B lens.

    There was never a V2 Pal. There was V0 upwards for NTSC/J and V1 upwards for NTSC US, but PAL started at V3 (even though the bios was ..020). So, basically, if it's Pal, almost any chip will work.

    Well, it's very simple. Firstly, I can tell you for sure, because I've been working with Pal PS2 since the 1st day it came out. Secondly, you will know if you can remove the board from the heatsink without de-soldering the power plug thingy (4 points that were soldered to the top board of V2).
