Hello there! I recently bought a used PS2 pal machine. And i'm uncertain whenever it is modded or not. because, I can play all kinds of diffrent DVDS (all regions, thai-copies) on it. but no backup/import games. why is this? is it modded or just special?

Problably just a dvd kit. Have you checked to see if the warranty sticker is on the back?
it's normal. ps2's can play "backupped" dvd movies without a modchip.
Well im not sure that it's "normal" since none of my friends can run the same DVDs on their Ps2 machines (atleast not diffrent regions, havent tried Thai) .. there was a warranty sticker on it, yes.

Umm. I don't get it. Isn't that the same thing he said? I mean, having the ps2 play copied dvds. I mean, you can't play dvd games but, I think you could play dvd movies.Quote:

haha.. All DVD players can play dvd movies backups.. as long as it reads the meida..
a ps2 that plays all region DVD movies.. is not a "normal" pal..
like Shidoken said .. Problably just a dvd kit....
most backups of dvd movies have the region protection removed
its a click of a button to remove region protection
