I've looked at installation photos and a lot of people put the chip on an IC near the top of the mainboard (for example, see attached picture) , is there enough room to put double sided tape + chip and have enough clearance with the metal case on? Any potential heat issues? The chip is a matrix infinity if that makes a difference.
I'm thinking of mounting the chip under the bios, grounding to the outside of the mainboard. any alt points for the 3.3v?
Anyone have recommendations of where to place the modchip (photos!?) and the reasons why they would or wouldn't put it there?
I pushed ahead with the install last night, everything worked first time which was nice. Would still be interested to hear any comments regarding mount points.
I previously owned a v7 which read my backups a lot better, should i try to adjust the laser or concede the laser in the v10 is crapola and live with it?
Install picture attached, matrix infinity pal v10 ga-026
Did you do the romeo mod? You should if you didn't. Google it up if you don't know what it is.
The mounting point for the v10 is ok. But you should put it on the lower level of the motherboard. I just did a v10 with infinity yesterday. Wish I took pics.
