    how can i know that wat is the modchip im using.i have ps2 region pal latest 5000x (dont remember)my modchip can only play ps2 and cannot play ps1 games and dvd movie.

    Well it may be able to play ps1 games and dvd but you may have to hold down the reset button in some sort of sequence to enable the ps1/dvd mode. on most of the cheaper chips, you put the ps1/dvd in the drive, hold the reset button until it goes into standby mode and the light is red. than hold down the reset button until you start to see the blue clouds boot up on the screen and than let go of the reset button. if you hold it too long, it will shutdown on you but give it a try a few times and you start to get the timing down. a pic would help determine the exact chip though and the sequence needed for it.
