No. You can use an original HDLoader dvd.

I recommend you get a modchip rather than getting HDLoader. There are a lot of games that do not work with HDLoader. If you have a modchip, you do not need to buy a copy of HDLoader, you can simply burn it.

Ok i'll burn HDLoader, buy a Dms EZI PRO or LITE (and install it myself), buy a hard drive (320gb for $90), and buy a ps2 network adapter ($20). Does HDL support this big of a hd? Will cost about $180 in the end (more than the ps2!!).

The hdd cost a lot, but hey you want faster loading games you have to pay. Get a Matrix Infinity and install it yourself if you want. Don't buy the DMS4 EZI. Here's why: http://ps2newz.net/forums/showthread...hlight=dms+ezi

You gotta know how to solder if you're gonna install the Matrix Infinity. Good luck.

I can install the modchip for you. Everything should cost $190: hdd, modchip, network adapter, installation fee, and return shipping.

Where can you get 320GB hdd for $90 though?
