just got some of these chips and according to my old modbo 2.1 diagrams the h wire is only for ntsc versions but the new modbo diagrams dont mention this so my question is should i install it or not.
ps: what dose the G wire do on a modbo coz the MI dousnt use it

H is for NTSC consoles. No need for H in PAL consoles.

On V10 PAL with a modbo 2.1 there is on the V10 diagram no H wire connection but the modchip will not work connected as with this diagram.
H wire connection is needed to get it working.
Modbo 2.1 V9 PAL H wire is connected on the diagram.
No experience with the 420/745 yet.

I have found that on the NZ/AUS PAL (SCPH xx002) models that you need to connect the H wire from the chip to the PS2 mainboard for the chip to function correctly. This was brought to my attention when I went to carry out my first modbo 2 install using the 745 version of the chip after spending a little time trying to work out why a V14 would not load DVDR media but would load original media. Once the H wire was connected all functioned okay.

I connect H point on all PAL installation. Machine works much better with H point on.
