I have a 040-52 PS2 and I've followed the CC diagram. When I power up, I can see the Modbo logo and access the menu. However, the laser doesnt do it's initial powerup. When I closed hit the switches to simulate a closed cover, the laser turns on, disc spins for half a cycle and then makes a few clicking noises, then laser returns back to initial position. What would be the most likely problem here? I've tripled checked all solder points.

    Thanks

Well thats simple. Your BIOS points are correctly soldered but check you dvd drive points. Basically when you see your laser try to read the disc, its looking for a game, but if it dosent detect a legit game it will stop spinning. This means the modbo isn't able to inject its own code at all or correctly. Check your drive chip points and you'll be fine.

To make sure im right, try putting in a legit game or a dvd and i can almost guaruntee it will continue to spin. I maybe incorrect i haven't modded a ps2 in years.

I hope iv'e helped you somewhat
