Any word on these new MODBO 4.0 chips ...
I think it was comsoft a while back that said that the 3.1 were due with version 4 support ... but these chips that i saw actually had MODBO 4.0 on it.

why doesn't the modbo team release a firmware to update their chips instead of making a new chip everytime?![]()

i herd it was because the old ones use an eprom instead of an eeprom so the chips cant be changed
the old modbo's could be firmware updated, thats hows the early chips died (by updating the firmware to a newer version, that had anti-clone protection)
what i meant is why doesn't the modbo team rewrite the firmware so that it could be updated on modbo without killing the chip, rather than making a releasing new chip every time. i know about the matrix firmware killing the matrix clone

Because the modbo and all other MI clones suck ass and they arent smart enough to do that kind of thing. They are only good at ripping the shit and having to make a new chip every time they have a new featureOriginally Posted by ronetoneps2

My old ass V7 has an old as yellow dot MI that was on of the very first batches ..... and guess what it has worked with every MI FW update with out having to put in a new chip. Dont be an asshole just buy the damn MI chip and be happy latter on.

Uhhh ... yeah ... so i guess no one heard anything about the modbo 4.0 .
cool ... thanks ...![]()
Well if the Modbo team released firmware updates, then people wouldn't need to buy new chips all the time. By not releasing firmware updates, Modbo makes more money.
You are the most misinformed person on this board if thats why you think they dont release FW updates ....Originally Posted by daisukejigen

I think it was a problem with the FPGA code preventing correct flashing altogether, not an issue of copy protection in the firmware. Either way Modbo knowingly sold a seriously flawed product, so I'll never trust them.Originally Posted by ronetoneps2
