Hey all, I just gotted my first chip and put it in today. It's a modbo 2.0, save me the "clone lecture". I can't get it to load anything but the "real" media and it boots just like it did before I modded it (no matrix logo, straight to game/movie). I'm wondering if this chip is picky about long wires or if I need to load some sort of firmware into the mem card to get it to work... any help would be great!

What version ps2? I don't think the modbo 2.0 even shows Matrix Infinity logo.

Modbo 2.0 doesn't work with v4-7. It only works with v9+. Get another chip. Trust me, I've tried installing a modbo 2.0 on v5 and a v7. It works the first try and you have to let the console rest for like 10 minutes then it might work again. Get a duo 2 gt and everything should work great.

Well, that is assuming that i can get it to boot again. Now I'm not getting any signal out of it audio or video... go figure. I guess I'll pull it all back out of there and see if I fried any fuses (hopefully didn't hurt anything else). I told my wife if this chip didn't work out I'd go for a matrix infinity but I don't know who I can trust with those even.

Try removing the chip to get the playstation to work again.

lucky me, just the chip was bad. I can live with wasting $12. Thanks Tony, I'll try to remember you when I have the cash for a better chip.

Not true I have mine V7 ps2 running with a modbo 2 works fine. Yes and its decieving because the modbo 2 has no splash or logo under the playstation 2 splash. The only thing it does thats different is when u load a homebrew cd in it fast boots thru the ps2 splash so u see it for about half a sec.
