Which mod chip for USA system in Argentina?

Hello,

I recently purchased a new PS2 (V10 PS2 main board, GH-026 board) here in the USA for a friend in Argentina. I'm told that most of the games down there are copies, and so I wanted to install a mod chip to the system before bringing it down...I'm just no sure which one to buy/install :/.

From what I've read (on www.modchip.com and www.mod-chip.com) the DMS3+ seems to be the best avail, though the Magic V+ also seems good and sounds like an easier install.

I know that in Argentina they use the PAL system. Other then that, I'm pretty clueless about this stuff.

Can anyone suggest which chip to buy, and possibly which shop to order from? It would def suck to bring him a system that didn't work...so hopefully someone can offer some advice.

well, I think that Matrix Infinity and DM3+ are best choises, here at Argentina is what we use, about Pal system don´t worry, all TV from 1986 to now are NTSC to, so you need just the chip.

What's the difference between the Matrix Infinity and DM3+ chips? Also, will either chip play DVDs from Argentina?

not to much diference, they are both very good chips, yes they will play movies from Argentina

Awesome thanks. I actually just saw on www.mod-chip.com that they hav a DMS4 Pro chip for $69...do you think I should get this one over the other two? Also, any idea on how to find someone to install the chip in my system once I get it? i live in New York City...

The DMS4 is an excellent chip but won´t boot backup so is no good for Argentina,

Big no, is not Actel based and is no region free, so your friend won´t be able to see DVD movies in Argentina.

magic v just strictly for backups/import games no other featurees
