Just installed an Infinity in a V4, short wire, no bridges. Booted it up and I get a black screen and the DVD drive won't eject. I do notice the blue led blink then go solid. Also, when it boots you see a flicker like it's trying to do something but it dosen't. Oh and the controller is plugged in.

I'm going to try the following things:
    - Boot disabled
    - Remove chip
    - Reinstall chip
    - Try a different chip

I was doing a search and read that I may have a dead LA? Is it possible that my LA is fine and I can't eject because of a different reason?

v4 ps2 doesn't have an LA chip its a BA chip,

if you check all the wires and they seem ok try checking the fuses on the board you may have blown one or two.....

    hope this helps

    regards.....

I don't thing I blew anything. I did leave my soldering iron on I and B for longer than I usually do - is it possible I overheated something on the other end of those vias?

as far as I know I and B along with A connect to the cdvd controller chip so should not affect the ps2 booting up (someone say if I am wrong about this) so I would say the problem lies somewhere else....

    NM fixed it!
I just took my air compressor to it then put electrical tape over my MI. That did the trick!
