MI seem to be running but get red death with boot copies

Any one please help im a noob to mod chips.....i have a ver 7 fitted with a MI (i think) blue dot and i can enter configuration screen ...........and when i boot original copy i get infinity ver 1.39 under PS2logo .......... but my HDadvance 2.0 neds the chip disabled to run...... do i have to flash the card or some thing , ithought with the infinity you just sodder and play. PLEASE HELP ANY ONE!!!!!!!!!! PS. when i try a boot copy i get red death every time

or you could upgrade your firmware to the newest version.

probably because you your media, don't use crap media stick with 1st class media here's a guide http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm i reccomend TY media

ya media has alotta do with it and how old and worn ur laser is.

no its not the media im using sony dvd -r good product any other ideas?
