What does this really mean? Version supported but has to be enabled in auto configuration algorithm. Sounds like you can have the chip automatically set itself for your PS2. What does it configure?

Those M2 guys put their techno blabber into the brochure. I won't go into the small amount of how that I know (and it is small) but basically a PS2 model has to be "exposed" to the chip programmer to assure recognition and hence correct operation when the chip is installed.
its like a crc check in otherwords its supported but needs an identify check so it knows where to patch the bios a timing check if you like it reads a certain point of the bios and handles what needs patching from there hence auto configuration no need for jumpers its just a basic check routine the messiah 2 uses.

lets say for example v7 pal works v7 ntsc will also but needs to be enabled the bios patch will be different slightly for the region check for pal the line would be for the ps1 driver scee
fo ntsc you would need scea as the first patching line so a crc check on the bios would be needed so the messiah 2 can determine this and patch data correctly so it functions on that machine.

Thanks for the information. Understand it a little better now.
That kind of strikes me as odd though. Because on the website its makes this statement towards the NTSC V6 console. (Well, coeerct me if Im wrong pls) But isnt the V6 just a V5 with an inverted ribbon cable connector?
-Me
yep the only thing different is the inverted cable v6 doesnt exist never has never will in my eyes the v7 is v6 so if v5 is supported so is the so called v6.

I don't quite get this. Before Messiah's website updated their chart, I noticed V1 was not supported. I asked on this forum, and everyone said it will support it but the table has to be updated. Well now the chart has been updated, and to my suprise V1 is supported BUT only with a bios 010!!!! I have 020! I hope I ain't waiting for something that won't even work for me.
Anyone have their email, I would like ask them this?
