Hello everyone. I'm new to these forums but I've been a user of other forums for quite a while.

Anyway I noticed on the official Messiah2 site and some distributor sites mention that V1 is not listed as compatible. Kind of strange that it supports V2 010, but not V1 020.

I've been told that it'll work by some users in another forum, but considering that there isn't even a installation diagram out for a V1 PS2, I would like a second opinion.

I would really like to get a Messiah2 mod-chip, but if it won't support V1 PS2's then I might aswell go with a Magic3 right now. What do you guys have to say about the V1+Messsiah2 problem?

Compatibility is based on all models they had available to test. The only reason the v2 is supported is because I submitted mine for testing!

Hmm maybe I should send mine in, although I would miss my PS2 .

What do they give in return?

no i believe they got all the models in stock now, just haven't verifiying them 100% yet but they got all of them.

those that asked them if they need anymore. were turned away.

That's correct. The remaining models are with them and it takes an hour or so after wiring for the models to be activated in the Messiah 2.

    v1s will be in.

Your DVD laser diode will be the thing you need to be wary of!

Why want's wrong with the DVD laser diode in the V1's?

I have yet to have any laser problems, but of course with origonals. The messiah2 will be my first modchip, long wait but worth it .

The older ps2's have weaker lasers, and playing a lot of games also weakens the laser. DVD-R's also weaken the laser even faster! Add up all these things and you get a ps2 that isnt going to play games very well to say the least.
