Messiah2 Locking up GTA Vice City

Recently purchased a US v7 PS2 and got it modded yesterday with a Messiah2. Only have a couple of games, but with GTA Vice city (backup) the game occassionally hangs and locks up. I see threads in this forums that this happens with Magic 3 modded systems, but I couldn't find anyone with Messiah2 modded systems having this problem. Anyone have any ideas? Again my other games are fine (both originals and backups). Is it possible that my backup of GTA Vice is not good?

In addition, the place where I got my system modded advised me not to play too many DVD movies (originals) because the colour surface of the disc over a period of time will make it difficult for the laser to distinguish between games and movies. Is this true?

The only reason i can think off, is the media. Try using TDK or Verbatim.

So, what do YOU think the Messiah 2 is doing in the middle of the game? If you don't know then don't come in with stupid crap; if you do know, enlighten us.

What is the Messiah 2 cracked up to be that maybe it has failed to do in this case?

What role in the game does the Messiah 2 have after the game is loaded?

I think that Sikosane has put his finger on it assuming there is no mis-install of any kind (like ribbon cables not properly seated).

Messiah 2 has no role to play when the game is running (nor should Magic 3 btw but it does 'wake up' and do something that freezes games occasionally).

GTA VC is, as I explained in the Magic 3 thread, a streaming game that loads its data just in time for the next frame. If it can't get that data then you get the mirrors effect. Now that shouldn't cause the game to freeze. But by the same token, it might have difficulty reading program code and that would cause the game to freeze.

My advice is to buy Traxdata DVD-R and burn at 1x. If you didn't source the backup, then you have no control over its production and perhaps you should ask someone else to try it and see how it behaves.

the messiah 2 is not the cause

since my brother bought my v4 system, he wants my Gta VC original

so i made a homebrew image of it, and burned it to a dvd-rw (so when he brings the original back, ill just erase the dvd and burn a new game ) plays perfectly on my v7, played it for about 3 hours.

the messiah 2 IS all its cracked up to be. with my v7, backups boot faster than originals . it does everything its supposed to (cept boot psx, but that was my installer's fault, i dont care bout psx anyway) which is a lot.

so, kizmet, in the words of Foxxy Cleopatra (from Austin Powers 3, i just finished watching it ) "Shut 'cho mouth!"

the messiah 2 is a over price POS IMO Magic Team ALL THE WAY both of you Shut UP!!!

its not over priced. different people charge different things.

there are TONS of magic sellers, because they get them cheap, because its cheap to make, because its CHEAP! Why do you think the Magic 3 was ripped in the first week of it's release?!?!?

messiah 2 doesnt have as many sellers because its an expensive product.

compare them to cars......

Messiah 2 = Ferarri
Magic 3.1 = BMW

They do what they're supposed to do, but there is one that's better!!!!

Messiah 2 is not that superior to the Magic 3.1, if it wasnt for team Magic the mods would still be 99$+

Messiah 2 = Walmart
Magic 3.1 = kmart and the other guys!
