Messiah2 install.... only plays originals/SCPH-39001 –

Well after bombing my V4 i went and bought a brand spanking new PS2.
SCPH-39001
Ser# AU3061534
PT430615348
Date Code 2D
GH022
I assumed this is a V7 and used such instructions. My PS boots up and plays originals just fine. But it wont play backups. A screen pops up says insert PS/PS2 format disc.
I have opened it up and rechecked all wires and I am sure that everything is correct. So do you think I have a bad chip? Or maybe its not compatible w/ my PS2?

Where did you put the CLK wire?

I connected clk wire to point shown in diagram. I even went ahead and twisted a grounded wire with it.

Try different power points and check the GND wire. Perhaps you should use thicker or multiple thin wires.

The Troubleshooting Guide in the FAQ deals with these questions. It's almost certain to be a mis-install for one of the reasons described in the TSG.

OK, first ill try booting a CD-R backup and see what happens....(at work right now so cant do it). The backup I have right now, thats not loading, is a DVD-R.

Alright.. about the TSG, it staes:
If it¡¦s all backups that won¡¦t boot, first suspect is B C, then try cleaning the laser lens with a cleaning CD. If it¡¦s just DVD-Rs that won¡¦t boot, suspect wires E, R, W or the DVD laser diode (which may need recalibration). Laser Azimuth might also need adjusting.
It says supect (such-andsuch) wires. I have already checked and rechecked all wire connections and everything is fine. So I know its not a wire/continuity problem. I also used the alternate bios solder points so i didnt have to solder once directly to an IC so bridging is not the problem.. BUT, I did check continuity from messiah to the actual pin on BIOS chip. As far as the laser azimuth... I have no idea how to adjust it. Its a brand spanking new PS2.
Now a question about another TSG statement:
If the BIOS wires are attached, detach them from the BIOS & clean up. Boot a backup using AR2/GS2
Sorry for being ignorant, but what is AR2/GS2?

AR2 -> Action Replay 2
GS2 -> Gameshark 2
