Messiah2 install gone bad –

Yesterday my freind tried to install my m2 in my v1 ps2 and it all went to shit. While trying to solder to the A point he droped a hole lot of solder on the DVD contoller chip. We tried to use a braid but it wasnt coming of. We then tried to heat the solder up and use a exacto to to sepearte him but in doing so he bent the pins into on another. When he tried to fix that he pushed the pins back so now its really ****ed. Anyways my other freind is going to give me his old ps2 (which i think is a version 3) which he said had a lazer problem so i could see if i could swap the lazer out of my dead ps2 into his. Now my question is, is this possible with a version 3?

it should work. there might be something funky with v1 ps2s..i forget but im pretty sure v1-v4 lasers are interchangable.

Thank you very much for clearing this up, now does anyone know if its hard to change out the lazer or is it about as easy as chagning out the lazer in one cd player in to another?
