Try booting an original game that has the same color disk surface.
i.e. If your CD-R's are silver, try booting an original with silver on its surface, even if the game is DVD based.
Please let me know how you get on.

I tried 2 different kinds of media, Kodak and a cheaper brand, eproformance. They're both greenish in color. I don't have any other media handy to test. Would burn speed be relevant? I burned at 4x.
try taking out the memeory card, and then see if it boot
is your memory card a original sony or is it a after market one
