Usual stuff to check as per my Troubleshooting Guide. Something's come off and/or got bridged

No dice .... I completely backed out of the install ... cleaned every possible connection ... and nothing ... I guess I now have a really expensive paper weight .....

Get a high powered magnifier and look at the controller legs and the bios legs most of the time when there is no video no sound there is a bridge.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem.
Installed a green Magic 7 clone into my V7 PS2.
The front lights/buttons are work fine, but the "SONY" never comes on.
Any luck figuring out what's happened to your unit?
Also, LOD refers to the 'controller'. Which chip is that?
Thanks everyone,

Hi, I have a V4 with Messiah and I have the same exact problem. Taking it all apart and putting it back together again fixed it, but it quit working again when I went to switch games after it was warmed up.
The first time it worked for about 5 hours, the second time 2 days. I get no picture or sound, but I can hear the disc spinning.
If you figure out what the problem is LMK!

does it make it to the boot screen? the swirling colorful things?
Or, does it just go blank right away... Usually if it is blank right away, without any boot screen, it is a short. If it makes it to the boot screen and then goes blank, it is a loose wire.
If this was your first install, it may have been a little sloppy, and when it heated up and cooled a few times, some loose solder or metal shavings connected something.
Do a good clean up job if you think you have the skills. Otherwise send it to someone else... like me
later,
daniel

Is your MESSIAH a light green chip or a Dark green chip? I have a dark green Messiah from gamegizmo.

Light green .... I have since removed it and installed it into another ps2 and it works fine .. however the original ps2 I took it from appears doa ... it powers up but I get no swirling electrons or logo ... or anything for that matter .. It will powerup and I can open and close the tray ... it will start the disk spinning if I leave or put a disk in it .... however nothing on the screen ....

You said the first PS2 worked for a week, but later died correct? I got confused because you said it is DOA which is dead on arrival. (never worked)
My PS2 powers up, but I don't get the swirling electron screen either. Eject works on mine too.
