Messiah Versus DVD Movie

I've a V4 1B USA ps2 modded with messiah, and when i use the GameShark to play dvd movies, it freezes in the region select screen...

Anyone could help? Maybe i need to use a pirate version of regionx?

Do you double tap RESET from STANDBY to boot the GS2/v2?

Yes, i tried with double tap in reset button...but it shows the ps1 logo messed up...and freezes...

I tried to use a backup of RegionX, and it crashed at the same time as Gameshark crashed...when i put the dvd movie after i put region 4..

I also tried a cd called DVD Unlocker...and it dont work too =\

Good news! My ps2 played a dvd movie region 4...

There is what i have done:

1) Turn on ps2 with double reset to make ps2 thinks that is a ps1 or dvd movie inserted
2) Go to browser screen and put the GameShark (or whatever) original version (original because the ps2 need to load the GS in ps2 mode, if it is a pirate version, ps2 will think that is a ps1 cd)
3) Run GS, and chose the region
4) Put the dvd movie

I did not have sucess with pirate version of Region X, if anyone had it, tell me

Well done. Nice when you can think it through.

On a backup copy of DVDRX, I have had success. Using the Jap 15000 with Origachip 1.25, to play a US movie I would boot with UK DVDRX, put in the backup JAP DVDRX and select Region 1. So the principle is good.

I think, that is impossible to run dvd movies with pirated version of GS....
because, with messiah, the dvd video mode is the same as psx mode, so, ps2 will not run ps2 cdr, only psx cdr...

The only way to run dvd movies is to make a PSX cdr with the code of all regions....
i wanna know, if it is possible to inject the free code in memory of ps2 and open the tray with PSX Language...

If it is possible, we can make a cdr to run dvd movies for ps2
